Ingredients for Birria De Res Recipe

  • 4 pound roast beef
  • 3 cup Water
  • 5 dried chile guajillo
  • 2 dried chile ancho
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 Clove
  • 1/4 stick whole cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon
  • 2 laurel leaves
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • As required Salt and pepper

Directions: Birria De Res Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Heat a pan and toast the chilies for 2 mins

step 2

  • STEP 2.In a bowl add hot water and soak the chilies for 5mins

step 3

  • STEP 3.Discard the seeds of the chilies and save the water

step 4

  • STEP 4.Add the saved water,chilies,oregano, garlic,clove,thyme,cinnamon,bouillon,laurel leaves , salt and pepper in a blender to blend

step 5

  • STEP 5.In a pot heat olive oil

step 6

  • STEP 6.And add salt and pepper to the beef

step 7

  • STEP 7.Fry the beef from all side until brown

step 8

  • STEP 8.Add chile mixture from the blender

step 9

  • STEP 9.Add water and set slow cooker to 6hrs

step 10

  • STEP 10.Shred beef

step 11

  • STEP 11.Serve with onion,cilantro and tortillas
