Directions: Besi Bella Bath Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak rice and lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the rice and lentils with water, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • STEP 3.In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions, green chilies, and vegetables of your choice. Saute until the vegetables are cooked.
  • STEP 5.Add tamarind pulp, Bisi Bele Bath powder, and cooked rice-lentil mixture. Mix well.
  • STEP 6.Add water to adjust the consistency and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • STEP 7.In a small pan, heat ghee and fry cashews and raisins until golden brown. Garnish the dish with fried cashews and raisins.
  • STEP 8.Serve hot with a dollop of ghee or yogurt.

  • You can use a mix of vegetables like carrots, beans, peas, and potatoes.
  • Adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less Bisi Bele Bath powder.
