Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, combine the beef strips with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated beef. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • STEP 3.In the same skillet, add the spinach, onions, and garlic. Sauté until the spinach wilts and the onions are translucent.
  • STEP 4.Warm the pita bread in a toaster or oven. Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on each pita bread.
  • STEP 5.Place a portion of the beef and spinach mixture on top of the sauce. Roll up the pita bread tightly and secure with a toothpick.
  • STEP 6.Serve the Beef & Spinach Gyros warm with extra tzatziki sauce on the side.

Cooking Tips

  • For extra flavor, you can add sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions to the gyro.
  • If you prefer a spicier gyro, sprinkle some red pepper flakes or drizzle hot sauce on top.
  • To make the tzatziki sauce ahead of time, refrigerate it for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.

Storage and Serving

  • Leftover gyros can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • To reheat, wrap the gyro in aluminum foil and warm it in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
  • Serve the gyros with a side of Greek salad or roasted potatoes for a complete meal.
