Ingredients for Batata vada (in apple Patra) Recipe

  • As required For Vada
  • 1 cup Boiled and smashed potatoes
  • As required Green chilli paste ½ teaspoon
  • As required Ginger paste ½ teaspoon
  • 1 teaspoon Chopped coriander leaves
  • 7 nos Curry leaves chopped to
  • As required Powdered sugar ½ teaspoon
  • As required Red chilli powder ½ teaspoon (use as per taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • As required Garam masala ½ teaspoon
  • As required salt to taste
  • As required For batter
  • As required Besan (gram flour) ½ cup
  • 2 tablespoon Oil +
  • As required salt to taste
  • As required Turmeric powder pinch
  • As required asafoetida pinch
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder

Directions: Batata Vada (in Apple Patra) Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add besan, salt, turmeric powder, asafoetida and oil.
  • STEP 2.Mix well, add water gradually taking care no lumps are formed.
  • STEP 3.Whisk well. Make a thick batter which coats on the spoon a shown in video.
  • STEP 4.In mixing bowl add mashed potatoes.
  • STEP 5.Add salt, sugar, garam masala, green chilli paste, ginger paste, red chilli powder, coriander leaves, curry leaves and lemon
  • STEP 6.Mix well and make small balls out of it
  • STEP 7.Dip potato balls in besan batter
  • STEP 8.Place them on preheated (for 5 minutes on slow flame)Appe patra as shown in video
  • STEP 9.Add a drop of oil to all the vadas
  • STEP 10.Flip the vadas till they are golden brown
  • STEP 11.Handle with light hands
  • STEP 12.Enjoy hot Batata Vada with green chutney
