Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Marinate the bata fish with turmeric powder and salt. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and fry the urad dal bori until golden brown. Remove and keep aside.
  • STEP 3.In the same pan, add cumin seeds, bay leaf, and dry red chili. Saute until fragrant.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions and cook until golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  • STEP 5.Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
  • STEP 6.Add water and bring the gravy to a boil. Add the marinated fish and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the fish is cooked through.
