STEP 1.Transfer the 200gm of grated jaggery into a pan with 1 cup water. Set the flame on medium heat and let the jaggery melt down. Keep aside the melted jaggery.
STEP 2.Set on to the stove another pan for frying. Add 2 tbsp of ghee into the pan and wait till the pans get heated up.
STEP 3.Now roast separately 2 tbsp of cashew nuts, 2 tbsp of raisins, 2 tbsp of chana dal and 2 tbsp of black sesame seeds.
STEP 4.Into the same pan pour in the melted jaggery with the help of sieve.
STEP 5.Boil the jaggery till it reaches a thread like sticky consistency.
STEP 6.Once the jaggery has reached the sticky consistency add to it, 2 cup of grated coconut and stir well continuously for 2-3 minutes. Make sure the jaggery syrup is fully absorbed by the coconut gratings.
STEP 7.Now add in 1 tsp of ginger powder and 1 tsp of cardamom powder for flavour.
STEP 8.Switch off the flame and join to the mix, 250 gm of poha.
STEP 9.Keep stirring the mixture until the poha is well coated will the jaggery and coconut.
STEP 10. Garnish the aval with roasted ingredients and a healthy, tasty snack is all set.
