Schezwan sauce is a spicy and pungent sauce made with dry red chillies, garlic, shallots and spices. It is a fusion indo Chinese recipe of a hot chili sauce to perk up your meals. Sugar and cornflour should not be had by diabetics, weight loss and heart patients. Schezwan sauce is a flavorful, spicy and hot condiment that is used as a dip. It can also be used to make fried rice, noodles, appetizers & snacks.

Ingredients for Authentic Szechuan Sauce For Dumplings Recipe

  • 180 gram Red hot chilies
  • 3 tablespoon Oil
  • 3 tablespoon Garlic Minced
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Sichuan Peppercorn Powder
  • As required Sesame oil for preserving

Directions: Authentic Szechuan Sauce For Dumplings Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Wash and dry 180 gms red chillies.

  • STEP 1.Roughly cut 180 g washed and dried red chillies roughly into chunks.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Transfer to a blender and blend till coarse in texture. Ensure that there are no large chunks. Set aside.

step 4

  • STEP 1.In a small saucepan heat 3 tbsp vegetable oil. Add 3 tbsp minced garlic .

step 5

  • STEP 1.Stir in medium heat for 2 minutes.

  • STEP 1.Then add the roughly blended chilli paste and stir for 3 minutes.

  • STEP 1.Next add 2 tsp salt and 1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorn powder and mix to combine well.

step 8

  • STEP 1.By this time the garlic, chilli and peppercorns should become fragrant. Turn off the heat.

step 9

  • STEP 1.Let the sauce cool completely to room temperature.

step 10

  • STEP 1.Transfer it to a jar and pour enough sesame oil over it to cover the chilli paste level. Schezuan sauce is ready.
