Arroz con queso is a traditional Bolivian dish with a strikingly white color. It consists of rice and semi-firm white cheese. A hit dish to host in a BBQ. This dish is cooked in so many ways that its almost a improvised version of the cheese rice. The recipe contains short grain rice, milk and cheese. Its a delicious side dish often served at house parties, it's perfect, comforting and easy to cook food.

Ingredients for Arroz Con Queso Recipe

  • 1/4 cup long grain converted rice, uncooked
  • 0.17 No.s onion, chopped
  • 0.17 cup cottage cheese
  • 18.33 gram green chili peppers, canned
  • 0.33 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 0.33 cup Monterey Jack cheese, grated, divided
  • As required Salt

Directions: Arroz Con Queso Recipe

  • STEP 1.1 - take a slow cooker and add uncooked rice, chopped onions, green chilli peppers, vegetable oil, garlic, 1 ½ cup monterey jack cheese, cottage cheese and salt.

step 3

  • STEP 2.2 - cover the cooker and cook this on low flame for 6-9 hours.

step 4

  • STEP 3.3 - sprinkle the rest of cheese on top and your arroz con queso is ready to be served.
