Rich and creamy rice dessert topped with raisind and cinnamon. Rice pudding dish made from rice mixed with water or milk and other ingredients such as cinnamon, vanilla and raisins. Variants are used for either desserts or dinners. when used as a dessert, it is commonly combined with a sweetner such as sugar. Arroz con leche is one of the oldest dessert in Mexico. The basic ingredients are rice, milk, sugar and lemon or orange peels.

Ingredients for Arroz Con Leche Recipe

  • 7 cup Water
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 4 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 340 gram evaporated milk
  • 400 gram condensed milk
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 3/4 cup golden raisins
  • As required Ground cinnamon

Directions: Arroz Con Leche Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 - in a pot add rice, water, and cinnamon stick and bring it to boil.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 - cover the pot and cook for 18 minutes.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 - strain the liquid and discard the cinnamon stick.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 - add the rice back to the pan and add in condensed milk, evaporated milk and whole milk.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 - bring it to boil over medium to high flame and then reduce the heat.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 - keep on stirring continuously.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 - after 20 minutes add raisins and stir well.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 - dust some cinnamon on top and it is ready to be served.
