This recipe is tasty small, ball shaped snack.Ammini Kozhukattai are ideally rice flour dumplings that are steamed, cooked and later tossed in a tempering for additional flavors. Very little oil is used in its preparation, hence it makes for a healthy and light snack.They can be made both sweet or spicy depending on your preference.Easy and quick to prepare.Taste is also good.

Ingredients for Ammini Kozhukkattai Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Rice flour
  • 3/4 cup Boiled Water
  • NaN As required Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Grated coconut
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • As required Ingredients for Roasting
  • 1 tablespoon Chana Dal
  • 1/2 tablespoon Urad Dal
  • 3 No.s Chilli
  • As required Ingredients for Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Urad dal
  • As required Curry Leaves A few
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida Powder
  • 1.50 tablespoon Coconut

Directions: Ammini Kozhukkattai Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 take a bowl and add rice flour ,to that add chilli powder ,salt ,oil and coconut -mix well .

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 add boiled water and mix well. Make a soft dough .cover it. Let it rest for few minutes

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 heat a kadai ,add chana dal ,urad dal and dry red chilli .roast it.turn off the flame.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 after cooling down, make a fine powder .keep aside .

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 now make small small balls out of the dough and steam them for 8 minutes in high flame . Keep aside .

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 heat oil in a kadai ,splutter mustard seeds ,urad dal and curry leaves .

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 add steamed kozhukattai along with salt ,ground powder and asafoetida powder .

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 mix well. Add grated coconut and stir .

step 9

  • STEP 9.9 so the tasty ammini kozhukattai is ready to serve.
