Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Preheat the oven to 325���F (165���C).
  • STEP 2.In a saucepan, heat the cream and amaretto liqueur until hot but not boiling.
  • STEP 3.In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until well combined.
  • STEP 4.Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly.
  • STEP 5.Pour the custard mixture into ramekins and place them in a baking dish.
  • STEP 6.Fill the baking dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  • STEP 7.Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  • STEP 8.Remove the ramekins from the water bath and let them cool to room temperature.
  • STEP 9.Sprinkle a thin layer of sugar over the top of each custard.
  • STEP 10.Using a kitchen torch or broiler, caramelize the sugar until golden and bubbly.
  • STEP 11.Let the brulees cool for a few minutes before serving.
