  • 1/4 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • as per your need A Few Curry Leaves
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon Coconut Paste
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, cook the lentils with water, turmeric powder, and salt until soft.
  • STEP 3.In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped vegetables of your choice and cook until they are tender.
  • STEP 6.Add the cooked lentils to the vegetables and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Add coconut paste, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt to taste.
  • STEP 8.Cook for another 5 minutes until the flavors are well combined.
  • STEP 9.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

  • You can use a mix of vegetables like carrots, beans, peas, and potatoes.
  • To make the coconut paste, grind fresh coconut with a little water.
