  • 1/10 cup Jaggery, Grated
  • 1/10 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1/5 cup Water

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, heat water and jaggery until the jaggery melts completely.
  • STEP 2.Add grated coconut and rice flour to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 3.Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring continuously, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • STEP 4.Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • STEP 5.Grease a plate or tray with ghee and spread the mixture evenly on it.
  • STEP 6.Allow it to cool completely and then cut it into small pieces.
  • STEP 7.Serve the Akki Halbai as a sweet treat or as a dessert after a meal.

  • Make sure to continuously stir the mixture while cooking to prevent it from sticking to the pan.
  • You can add cardamom powder or saffron strands for additional flavor.
