  • 100 gram Okra, Washed And Dried
  • 0.40 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/5 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/5 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/5 teaspoon Fennel Seeds
  • 1/5 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/5 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/5 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/10 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/5 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/5 Juice Lemon
  • 0.40 tablespoon Chopped Coriander Leaves

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and dry the okra, then trim the ends and cut them into small pieces.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and fennel seeds. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add the okra pieces and cook until they become tender and slightly crispy.
  • STEP 5.In a separate bowl, mix together red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Add this mixture to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 6.Cook for a few more minutes until the spices are well combined with the okra.
  • STEP 7.Finally, add lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and remove from heat.
  • STEP 8.Serve hot with roti or rice.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to dry the okra thoroughly before cutting to avoid sliminess.
  • Adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
  • You can also add a pinch of asafoetida (hing) for extra flavor.
  • For a richer taste, you can add a tablespoon of yogurt while cooking the okra.
