Ingredients for Aalu masala sev Recipe

  • 1/2 nos - medium-sized potatoes (aloo)
  • 1/4 cup - chickpea flour (besan)
  • 0.13 teaspoon - turmeric powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon - red chili powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon - garam masala
  • 0.13 teaspoon - Chaat Masala
  • As required - salt to taste
  • As required - Oil for frying
  • As required - Water as needed

Directions: Aalu Masala Sev Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Squeeze out excess water from the grated potatoes using a clean cloth or paper towel.
  • STEP 2.2. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, chickpea flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well to form a dough-like consistency. If the mixture is too dry, add a little water to bind it together.
  • STEP 3.3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadhai over medium heat.
  • STEP 4.4. Meanwhile, fill the sev maker or chakli maker with the prepared dough. Choose the sev plate with medium-sized holes.
  • STEP 5.5. Once the oil is hot, press the sev maker directly over the hot oil, moving it in a circular motion to form concentric circles or straight lines.
  • STEP 6.6. Fry the sev until golden brown and crispy, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  • STEP 7.7. Once done, remove the sev from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  • STEP 8.8. Allow the sev to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
