In Bengal, with a gamut of vegetarian snacks, you also find an exquisite variety of non-vegetarian snacks, like dimer devil (Bengali-style devilled eggs), Mughlai paratha, chicken roll, in some places even a chickpea- chaat or Ghugni is laced with juicy mutton chunks to draw more customers. Here are some Bengali snacks that will always rule our heart.
Ghugni
Dried yellow peas cooked with spices. The fiery chaat may or may not have an includion of mutton chunks. Make sure you are not stingy with those green chillies, if you want the true Kolkata style flavour.
Chicken Kathi Rolls
Kathi rolls took birth in Kolkata for the British officials who were wary of touching Kathi Kababs with their hands. So the Kababs were rolled up in a paratha and served to them. The revolutionary snack ha snow reached different corners of the country, even the fillings have been reimagined in many ways. This one has chicken, onions and a variety of sauces.
Dimer Devil
The Bengali version of the deviled eggs, in this iconic snack, boiled eggs are coated with a thick, mixture of spicy minced meat. It is a popular item to be served in Durga Puja Pandals as well.
