Ask any connoisseur of spirits and they will invariably tell you that nothing goes down as smoothly or indicates a good time as much as a glass of whiskey on the rocks. Whether you enjoy Scotch or Bourbon the most doesn’t matter as much as the fact that you are indulging in a liquor that has been popularly tagged as “the water of life”. Needless to say, whiskey tastes amazing (if you have developed a taste for it), and this is the main reason behind the rise of whiskey-infused dishes around the world.
While the idea of pairing your favourite alcohol with delicious dishes is now a few decades old, the art of infusing alcohol in dishes—especially in French and Chinese cuisines—is even older. From the glorious French Coq Au Vin to the Chinese Drunken Chicken, the pairing of alcohol with chicken especially is a very popular food trend even today. So, what better way to celebrate your favourite whiskey on World Whiskey Day?
Celebrated annually, World Whiskey Day is observed on the third Saturday of May. This year, World Whiskey Day will be celebrated on May 20. And while whiskey tastings and masterclasses would probably be on your calendar, another way to celebrate “the water of life” is by whipping up these amazing Whiskey-Infused Chicken Wings at home for a party.
