In an official announcement made by Union Minister of State Prahlad Singh Patel on Wednesday, the second edition of the World Food India event was announced to take place at Pragati Maidan, Delhi from the dates November 3-November 5. According to his announcement, Patel stated that the event is an opportunity for projecting the potential of the sector in front of global stakeholders. The latest edition has on Netherlands as the ‘Partner Country’, and Japan and Vietnam as ‘Focus Countries’.

The theme of this edition – Processing for Prosperity – aims to showcase the richness of Indian food, the scope of investment across the various food sectors in the country – including dairy, agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry. The event also hopes to shed light on the role of millets in sustainable farming, as well as its benefits of being a contemporary superfood. One of the arrangements at the event include an ‘Experiential Street Food’ attraction, curated by chef Ranveer Brar – which is said to be the main centrepiece.
