The iconic martini cocktail that’s made with gin and vermouth, and garnished with an olive or a lemon twist has been all time favoruite for many. It was Martini's spirit and Rossi's creative genius that in way back in 1863, vermouth was mixed with gin and that has stayed for more than 150 years making MARTINI Rosso inimitable.

This simple yet much in demand cocktail also sees it’s variation with vodka. But in 2021 what grabbed eyeballs was Pornstar Martini as it most searched drink of 2021 on internet. 

This fruit-flavoured cocktail was first made in 2002 by Douglas Ankrah. That extra dash of vanilla-flavoured vodka, Passoã, passion fruit juice, and lime juice does the magic here. Reported as the most ordered cocktail in the United Kingdom in November of 2018, this cocktail was supposedly created by Ankarh inspiration to his visit to a club in Mavericks in Cape Town, South Africa. In an interview he has even claimed that he used the word "porn star" to name this drink as it “evoke "a stylish and confident drink, that’s pure indulgence, sexy, fun and evocative". Trust me there is nothing sexual about this bold, sexy and playful drink 

This easy breezy passion fruit cocktail that sees a burst of zingy flavours and topped with prosecco for a special tipple makes it pretty much desirable and has travelled across most bars in the world. With few tweaks here and there this surely will be a drink to remember.

Try it out this festive holiday season

Ingredients

•    1 1/2 ounces vanilla flavored vodka

•    1/2 ounce passion fruit liqueur 

•    1 ounce passion fruit puree

•    1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed

•    1 slice pineapple (optional)

•    1/2 ounce vanilla simple syrup

•    2 ounces sparkling wine, chilled

•    Garnish: 1/2 cup passion fruit

Method

•    Muddle one slice of pineapple in a shaker

•    Add all ingredients except sparkling wine into a shaker with ice and shake it vigorously 

•    Make sure it’s super chill.

•    Strain it into a chilled coupe glass.

•    Garnish with a passion fruit half.

•    Serve with a sparkling wine sidecar (on the side).
