Let’s just say that the past two years have been all about unique food combinations. From mixing chocolate with chai to making pakoda and bhaji with Maggi – we've seen it all. And maybe not. While some experimentation turns out to be delicious, some fail miserably. Then there are some bizarre food combinations that go viral garnering thousands of views on the internet, yet we are never able to figure out why it was done at the first place. Remember the Fanta Maggi or Ice Cream Gol Gappa? Another such recipe has now gone viral with two most loved foods, and we can’t help but think what made people do this. We recently came across a barfi made with Parle-G. Yes, you read that right. Food blogger Karan Singhal who goes by the handle 'thefoodattacker' on Instagram took to the social media platform to share this unique dessert recipe.

The Instagram Reel that featured the whole process of making the barfi started with the biscuits being fried in desi ghee and ground to form a paste. Then milk powder and milk are mixed in a bowl together and then combined with a freshly prepared sugar syrup (chashni). The recipe then mixes the ground Parle-G paste with the milk and stirs well until it turns dry and ghee oozes out of it. It is then spread evenly on a plate to set. Served with a generous garnishing of nuts asnd dry fruits, cut into pieces, this Parle G Barfi has definitely caught out attention.

"Desi Ghee me FRIED Parle -G ki BARFI...Ingredients: Parle-G, desi ghee, sugar, water, milk powder, milk, dry fruits," the caption read. Take a look:

This video has already garnered over 2 million views, more than 95k likes and thousands of comments till date. While some viewers liked and appreciated the experimentation, some remained utterly confused wondering how it would’ve tasted. “Super cool recipe! definitely saving it for later!” wrote one user, while another read "Nice idea. Will try it for sure”. Another person commented, "Noo..." and one comment read, “Don't try these."
