Let’s admit it. The moment you order in a pizza, your eyes are glued to the door. Even if you shift your gaze, it is only to look down on your phone and track the rider who is carrying the order. Now think how devastating it could be to open a box with a slice missing? In a short clip that is going viral on various social media platforms, a pizza rider is seen sneaking in a pizza from the box at the time of delivery, but guess what? The customers didn’t seem to have a problem with that. After all, it was upon their instructions that he did so. Confused? Here’s what transpired.
In a bizarre turn of events, when a pizza hut delivery executive showed up at the doorstep of the customers who had placed the order, he was met with a unique sign that read “No money for the tip, please take a slice of pizza.”
Needless to say, the rider was not very impressed with the signboard. In a camera footage, he can be seen flicking his hand in air and could also be heard saying “Are you kidding me?”. But soon after he proceeds anyway and grabs his slice grudgingly.
While one may think that it is an excellent way to save some hefty tip, many netizens also sympathised with the delivery person. Given the pandemic’s impact on food and beverage industry, many riders depend on tips to sustain their livelihood. Thus, the signboard came as insensitive to many.
