Actor-comedian Varun Sharma took to his Instagram yesterday, to share a picture of himself enjoying a plate of chhole-bhature. The Fukrey and Dolly Ki Doli actor was visibly excited, even captioning the picture as ‘khushi samajh rahe ho!’. The actor’s meal contained two fluffy, golden-brown bhaturas with all the classic fixings of chhole, aaloo ki sabzi and pyaaz. The actor, who is originally from Jalandhar, Punjab sure knew how to do justice to his epic meal!
His followers echoed his sentiments towards his meal by expressing their love for chhole-bhature, some even going as far as posting multiple heart emojis. Chhole-bhature is a classic street food dish that is particularly famous in Delhi, which is also considered to be the hub of some lip-smacking offerings like momos, chaat and kulfi. The spicy, high calorie meal is typically eaten for breakfast but can also be enjoyed any other time of day, while still piping hot.
Varun, who is a self-confessed foodie, has known to be vocal about his love for Burmese food and pizza in the past, while also heaping praises about his mother’s jeera-aaloo recipe. He has also previously talked about how much he loves Mumbai for its food options and also divulging his regular haunts to be Amar Juice Centre for its pav bhaji and crisp dosas. Although he has admitted previously about his desire to cook, the actor is yet to share any updates on working his chops in the kitchen.
