'A number of new eateries and pubs have opened up in the City of Joy! In the last few months, quite a few restaurants, cafes, bistros and nightclubs have cropped up in Kolkata. For instance, a few weeks ago, the popular international breakfast chain Wendy's opened its doors in Kolkata where you can explore some hearty burgers, fries and chicken nuggets.
In South Kolkata, there's Belle Amore, a quaint cafe, a contemporary diner named Voila Bistro and a virtual reality cafe named Brew-Berry VR Cafe. In Sector V, the popular South Indian eatery Mysore Canteen opened up shop a few weeks ago. Let's look at some other new eateries in town.
Mysore Canteen
Kolkata now has a great new spot for benne dosas and thatte idlis and it’s Mysore Canteen. The South Indian is located at the intersection of Salt Lake Sector V’s Webel and TSC eco station at EP block and serves some irresistible signatures like Mysore bonda, pineapple sheera, nannari sharbath, bissibelle bhaath, ghee podi idli and a lot more! Don’t forget to explore their filter coffee and Mysore paklova. They open at 11 am on weekdays so you can easily walk in for a late breakfast; on Sundays, they open at 9 am and stay open till 4 pm.

Tess, Hyatt Centric Ballygunge Kolkata
There’s a new Euro-Asian bistro in town! Tess is serving authentic Thai, flavoursome Asian small eats and European easy eats, prepared with freshest and sustainable locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant offers dishes like Fish Krachai (Locally sourced fresh fish, aromatic Thai herb 'Krachai', Thai green peppercorn 'Prik Thai Orn', basil, Thai chilli, jasmine rice), Classic Green Curry, Crispy Mushroom Salad, Avocado on Sourdough along with desserts like Crescent Moon (Chocolate pear tart, purple flower rendition), Torta Mimosa (Moist mimosa cake, mixed berries, vanilla crème) to name some.
The bistro also has a strong focus on Indian estate coffees and the beverage menu showcases zero-alcohol mixology like The Healer, Poached Peer, and Changing Hue complimented by an array of beers & wines by glass.

Pico – Pizzeria & Coffee Bar
If you like coffee and pizzas, there’s a new spot for you in town. Nestled near Vivekananda Park, Pico is a coffee bar that offers some artisanal brews and woodfire pizzas. One of the best things about this joint is the interactive coffee bar where guests can chat with our expert baristas, learn about bean origins, explore brewing techniques and also buy some coffee beans!
