Although we are almost halfway through the first month of 2022, some of us can’t seem to forget how sorrowful and stressful 2021 was. The year was full of tragic and fortunate events alike. However, we all agree that the internet was quite instrumental in keeping us all sane throughout the year. From rib-tickling trends to heartwarming stories of people who fought with the virus and emerged stronger, there was no end to the internet trends. And as the probable lockdown is nearing again, it's time to brace ourselves and soak up in all things heartwarming and kind. Having said that, an initiative by a Delhi street vendor is winning the hearts of netizens.
A video uploaded by an Instagram food blogger who goes by the username @thefoodiehat brought into the limelight a compassionate attempt by some individuals in Delhi to help the underprivileged sections of society. An initiative by an NGO- Granth Foundation has taken upon itself to help and feed the poor for just rupees 10/-. The NGO has set up a food stall by the name ‘Sita Ji Ki Rasoi’ in Rohini, Sector-7 run by some ladies. The underprivileged people can have unlimited servings of the thali for just rupees 10/-. The thali is designed to fulfill the basic nutritional requirements of poor people. Moreover, if one can’t afford to pay the sum, he/she can have the meal for free too.
The video uploaded by the food blogger has won the hearts of millions and has gathered around 3.8 million views, 346k likes and numerous kind comments from netizens across India. The meal consists of dal, chawal and chapati and looks quite filling and scrumptious. The stall is open for service from 12-2 PM in the day.
