Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) was inaugurated on Friday in Mumbai. India's first-of-its-kind, multi-disciplinary cultural space, the NMACC, will showcase India's finest offerings in music, theatre, fine arts, and crafts. Its launch was a grand two-day affair that saw the biggest celebrities across Hollywood and the Indian film industry. Right from the Khans of Bollywood—Shahrukh, Salman, and Aamir—to Alia Bhat, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Priyanka Chopra with husband Nick Jonas, they all graced the event. American model Gigi Hadid, Spiderman actor Tom Holland, actress Zendaya, and actor Penelope Cruz were also present at the grand affair.

The event, which is touted as India’s first ‘Met Gala," was a celebration of Indian culture and heritage. As Nita Ambani also said on the occasion, the centre itself has been created to promote and celebrate India’s artistic and cultural heritage. Food, being at the heart of India’s rich heritage, was also an intrinsic part of the lavish affair. Guests at NMACC were served food in a silver thali, which consisted of multiple bowls. Maheep Kapoor and Mini Mathur took to Instagram to share several pictures from the event, including that of the majestic thali, and the beautifully laden thalis have the internet swooning.

The opulent assortment of Indian cuisine, comprised of famous Gujarati food items, including thepla, shrikhand, ghugra, churma na ladoo, bhakri besides different kinds of rotis, creamy dal, aromatic palak paneer, halwa, crispy papad, and scrumptious gujiyas adorned the silver thalis. A sparkling glass of wine and a refreshing glass of water were spotted beside the thali on an exquisitely set table.

But that’s not all! The guests at the launch were also served a sweet dish laden with ₹ 500 notes. But that came with a twist. In some of the pictures going viral on the internet, a sweet dish can be seen laden with several notes of ₹ 500. The food item seen is in fact a popular north Indian winter dessert called Daulat ki Chaat, which translates to ' the snack of wealth', and the notes of ₹500 are in fact fake notes. Interesting concept, isn’t it? Take a look:

We wonder how Tom Holland, Zendaya, or Gigi Hadid liked the Indian spread at the event. The NMACC, located within the Jio World Centre in Mumbai's BKC, will open to the public on April 3 with a list of events already lined up.
