In May, Bengaluru’s iconic ice cream parlour, Corner House, turned 40, giving ice cream lovers a reason to celebrate. There are, however, plenty of ice cream parlours that have specialities that have become popular over the years. These include ice creams made from fresh fruit with no preservatives to innovations in chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice creams served with a wide range of toppings.

Indulge in the sinful ‘Death by Chocolate’ at Corner House
Corner House, started in 1982 in Bengaluru, is considered an undisputed favourite among ice cream lovers. Many celebrities like Rahul Dravid, Mahesh Bhupathi, and Deepika Padukone have visited this place. The ‘Death by Chocolate’ ice cream, the most popular at Corner House, is a sinful abundance of chocolate cake and scoops of vanilla ice cream, drowned in hot chocolate sauce, topped with chopped roasted peanuts and cherries, and served in a bowl. The ‘Hot Chocolate Fudge’ is a close second. It comprises one or two scoops of vanilla ice cream and is topped with chocolate sauce and peanuts. The other choices include fruit sundaes such as apricot with ice cream and cream, peach melba, fruit jackpot, etc, and sundaes such as cashew fudge, royal butterscotch, and café caramel, and more.
