Sukha vatana is a marathi name for green peas. It's so exciting that you can eat green peas in so many ways whether it's boiled, curried or even raw. Sukha vatana is a dish prepared using just the green peas combined with different types of powdered masalas and spices to bring out a more flavorful addition to the dish. Moreover, most sukha vatana dishes don’t include coconut, which makes one feel unsatisfied because it helps in adding additional flavor and makes your dish look more appetizing and delicious in taste. Worry not, because we are garnishing and mixing our sukha vatana with enough quantity of freshly grated coconut and coconut milk.

Ingredients-
- 1 cup green peas
- Coriander leaves
- Coriander powder
- Cumin seeds
- Amchur powdr
- Half cup grated coconut
- Garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Green chili
- Half tablespoon oil
- 2-3 tablespoons of oil
- ¼ teaspoon mustard seeds
- Turmeric powder
- Asafoetida
- Coconut milk
Method for preparation-
- Heat oil in a pan and first add two tablespoons of coconut milk then chopped green chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, amchur, dhania, red chili and turmeric powder altogether. Also add garam masala and a pinch of asafetida and salt.
- Stir the mixture continuously till all the masalas and spices combine together.
- After that, in the same pan add green peas and then add enough water to cover the peas. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on a medium- high until peas become soft in texture.
- When the peas are cooked, mix it together with the masala and add finely grated coconut on top. Give it another boil and mix everything well.
- Your sukha vata curry is ready! Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
