Shraddha Kapoor Relishes Homemade Dal-Chawal, Pickle & More

Actress Shraddha Kapoor, whose love for food is as popular as her movies, offered a glimpse into her busy life – which allowed her with little time to enjoy simple pleasures like ghar ka khaana. Taking to social media a couple of days ago, she shared an out of focus picture of what was a simple, home-cooked meal of dal-chawal. Served with an assortment of accompaniments like a dry preparation of prawns, a brown chutney as well as sweet and spicy pickles on the side, Shraddha captioned the picture saying, “2 hafte baad ghar ka khaana, kitna miss kiya ye samjhaau ki chup chaap khaau???” [roughly translating to ‘eating home-cooked food after two weeks, should I explain how much I missed it or eat quietly?’]

As a foodie who doesn’t believe in following crash diets, the actress balances her food and workout regimen with equal balance. While she garnered rave reviews for her fit physique in some of her hit films, Shraddha’s love for homemade dal-chawal and pickle has been consistent. Aside from this, her meals also include eating upma, kakdichi bhakri, dosa or daliya, her moderate carb diet also comprised of meals like tofu with vegetables, tikkis made with leafy greens and sprouts, gluten-free pasta and plenty of vegetable juices made with amla, ginger, mint and turmeric.
