Shahi Parwal: A Super Healthy Indian Delicacy For your Next Meal

Parwal is majorly used to make quite a lot of savory dishes. It is impossible not to find a single Indian household, not adding this vegetable to their kitchen ingredients and dishes. Ingredients- 

  1. 5-6 Parwal 
  2. ¼ cup khoya 
  3. 2 tablespoon Kaju paste 
  4. 1 tablespoon Onion garlic paste 
  5. Ginger 
  6. Cumin seeds
  7. Bay leaves 
  8. Shahi zeera 
  9. Oil 
  10. salt 
  11. Garam masala 
  12. Red chili powder 
  13. Pinch of cardamom powder

Method- 

  1. Cut each parwal in half and fry in a heated pan with oil on a low-medium flame. 
  2. After frying, take parwals out and keep them aside. 
  3. For the gravy, take a pan and add 2 large tablespoons of oil and further add bay leaves, pinch of cardamom powder, cumin seeds, shahi jeera and onion paste. 
  4. After the gravy seems to turn slightly pinkish in colour, add ginger garlic paste, kaju paste. Saute the mixture well. 
  5. When the oil slowly starts to separate from the gravy, add half teaspoon chili powder, garam masala, pinch of sugar and khoya. Stir well and add water. At the end, don’t forget to add cardamom powder. 
  6. When the gravy is ready, add some fresh cream and finally the fried parwals into the pan and cook well. 
  7. Shahi parwal is ready, garish with roasted almonds.
