The fact that Sara Tendulkar is a foodie who also loves to experiment in the kitchen is well known. From enjoying large Asian spreads to trying to make mango ice cream at home, Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali Tendulkar’s daughter always has a great eye and tastebuds for good food—and the internet truly appreciates her food adventures. Naturally then, if Sara Tendulkar indulges in a lavish Goan cuisine dishes on another one of her Goa trips, the internet is going to love her for it, and it did!

A few days back, Sara Tendulkar had posted a few pictures from Goa. But now, according to her latest stories on Instagram, it seems that she has returned to the state not just to visit brother Arjun Tendulkar who plays for Goa but also to indulge in the food and great winter vibes. In one of her stories, Sara gave us a glimpse of a lavish and fully loaded Goan Thali that she dug into, and gave the internet some major food goals at the same time.

Spread all over a steel plate covered with fresh banana leaves, this Goan Thali was an authentic medley of colours, flavours and textures. Easiest to spot on the Thali were the steamed rice, dal, Sol Kadhi and another dal beside it. On the side, one can clearly spot a crispy-fried Rawa Fish Fry. This one was not made of pomfret but rather a huge fish fillet. On the other side of the plate are two vegetable curries, with salad on the side.

A vibrant-looking purple bhaji or saag is also visible on the plate. For non-vegetarian curries, which are always an indulgence in Goa thanks to the fresh seafood available, you can spot some fish curry and what looks like a mutton curry on the side. Of course, given that this is a Konkani Goan Thali, it is likely that these curries were quite spicy with a dash of kokum or vinegar in some to add a bit of sourness. The Goan Thali looked quite vibrant, delicious and tempting.

For those unaware, a Goan Thali always consists of multiple fish and seafood dishes paired with rice and other staples like Sol Kadhi, which cools down the body. Dishes made with fish like pomfret, surmai, prawns and bombil are usually featured on the menus, and occasionally special Goan preparations like sorpotel and vindaloo are also showcased on these Thalis. Desserts like Patoleo, Bebinca and Dodol are also offered in many places to round up the Goan Thali experience.

While we did not see the presence of these or any other desserts in Sara Tendulkar’s Goan Thali, she did post a story about another local gem she indulged in. In another story, she showed how Goans retrieve fresh tender coconuts from tall coconut trees. In the following story, she also gave us a glimpse of the juicy tender coconut that had been cracked open to reveal the tender flesh and water inside. It looks like Sara Tendulkar is truly enjoying everything local that Goans enjoy.
