- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to steam.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until smooth. Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly to temper the eggs.
