Recipe for Making Chicken and Rice Recipe in Pressure Cooker:
- The first step is to rinse the rice under water. if you are using basmati rice then soak it for 30 minutes.
- Now, take the chicken pieces and marinate them with turmeric, chilli powder, salt, and yoghurt. Garam masala powder is another option for good taste.
- Now take the pressure cooker, and add some oil to it. When the oil is heated, then add dry spices and bay leaves. Sauté them until fragrant.
- Remove them and in the same oil, add the onions and fry them until they become golden brown.
- Now, add the chicken which is marinated on medium flame. Cook till the chicken becomes tender.
- Now add the tomato paste, or you can even add the chopped tomatoes. Mix them all together till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
- Now, add the chopped coriander and mint leaves and cook till the moisture evaporates.
- Add some water or coconut milk and salt to the mixture.
- When the water is boiling, add the basmati drained rice.
