Protein Salad And Diet Chaat: Two Easy Weight Loss Recipes

Interesting recipes always bring enjoyment to cooking and, therefore, into the diet as well. There are plenty of recipes like chaat, salad dressings, and dosas that are considered to be tasty but not healthy. The healthier version of these recipes brings both nutrition and taste to the boring diet they follow. They create new engagement with people on their weight loss journey, assisting them in remaining consistent with their diet and avoiding cheat days.

Two such interesting and delicious recipes are mentioned below-

Protein Salad:

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cup black chickpeas (boiled) 
  • 1 cup peanuts (roasted) 
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • Pink salt, to taste
  • Kali mirch (crushed), to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 medium cucumber 
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 bunch salad patta 
  • 1 medium turnip 
  • 3 tbsps olive oil 
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds 
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice 
  • Pink salt, to taste
  • Kali mirch (crushed), to taste
  • A handful of fresh coriander 

Method: 

  • In a frying pan, add black chickpeas, peanuts, paprika powder, pink salt, black pepper crushed, and olive oil.
  • Mix well and roast for 2 minutes on medium heat.
  • Cut cucumber in small slices and set aside.
  • Deseed the tomatoes, chop and set aside.
  • Peel and slice the onion and set aside.
  • Chop the salad leaves and set aside.
  • Slice the turnip and set aside.
  • In a bowl, add olive oil, sesame seeds, lemon juice and whisk well.
  • Add pink salt, black pepper (crushed), whisk well and set aside.
  • In a bowl, add all the vegetables, roasted chickpeas and peanuts, fresh coriander, and prepared seasoning.
  • Mix well and serve.

Diet Chaat

Ingredients:

  • 50 gram chickpea
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 green chilli (chopped)
  • 1 tomato (chopped)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 cup water 
  • 1 tbsp imli chutney
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp curd
  • 1 ghee-toasted chapati or 1 khakhra

Method:

  • Pressure-cook the chickpeas (soaked overnight). 
  • Add onion, green chilli, tomato, salt, and turmeric powder to it, along with 1 cup of water until 6-7 whistles.
  • Once the pressure cooker cools down, take the chickpeas out and put them in a serving bowl.
  • To the bowl, add imli chutney, chopped onion, tomato, and green chilli, along with some coriander leaves.
  • Add 1 tbsp of curd and to add crunch, break a khakhra all over the chaat.
  • The chaat is ready to be served.

These weight-loss recipes are amazingly delicious. These are high in fibre and protein, which adds the perfect amount of energy to the diet. Also, they are low in calories, making them suitable to be added to the diet during a weight loss journey.
