1. Mangoes are fattening
NO, they are not! On the other hand, mangoes are full of vitamin A and C, iron, potassium and copper. What’s more, they contain no fat or sodium. It contains high amounts of fibre, and induces a feeling of satiety. It’s all about practising moderation, but do not stop it in any way!
2. Mangoes are harmful for those with diabetes
It is commonly believed that mangoes are harmful for those with diabetes. But that’s not true at all! On the other hand, they are low in glycemic index, and again, moderation is the key. So, have mangoes without feeling guilty.
3. Mangoes lead to breakouts
How many times have we heard our mothers say that mangoes must be avoided because they produce heat in the body? In fact, most of them believe that they are the cause of breakouts. No way! In fact, if you are deficient in vitamin A, antioxidants and minerals, then getting acne is a possibility. Instead, having mangoes might just help you get clear skin.
4. Mangoes cause your body temperature to rise
As mentioned above, this is not true. If you eat mangoes in large amounts, mangoes will produce excessive heat. But again, consuming anything in large quantities is anyway not the best idea. What you can do is soak the mangoes in water for a few hours, before you relish them. Here, problem solved!
All in all, do not deprive yourself of the goodness of mangoes. They are not just delicious, but also super healthy. So, this National Mango Day, get set to indulge in them with your friends and family!
