Anybody who visits Amritsar, Punjab is struck by the beauty of the Golden Temple, the charm of the city and the deliciousness of every single plate of food—and through her recent posts and stories on social media, Nimrat Kaur has proved that she too is simply in love with the city of Amritsar and everything it has to offer. Nimrat Kaur, who is known for her roles in The Lunchbox and Dasvi, gave her fans a peek into her time in Amritsar, where she clearly indulged in prayer and food the most.

In a series of stories and a post full of photos, Nimrat Kaur shared what her time in Punjab has been like, especially when it comes to the food. While her pictures at the Golden Temple showcase the peace and serenity all visitors feel there, Nimrat Kaur’s pictures in front of iconic Amritsar food joints and eateries will actually give you food goals. Dressed in a pink salwar-suit with mininal makeup, Nimrat Kaur was seen sitting cross-legged in front of the Golden Temple while meditating.

In the photos that follow, Nimrat Kaur can be seen posing in front of Gurdasram Jalebiwala, a popular confectioner’s shop which sells incredibly delicious Jalebis, Kachoris and many other snacks and sweets. In another picture, Nimrat Kaur can be seen posing in fron of A-One Kulfa, a popular dessert parlour that serves plates of Kulfa with sweet Rabdi and is a favourite of plenty of local and visiting celebrities, including Vikas Khanna and Saransh Goila.

A visit to Amritsar is incomplete without indulging in local favourites like Kulchas, Sarso Da Saag, Makke Di Roti and Lassi—and Nimrat Kaur did indeed inculge in these. In a story, she can be seen eating a huge Thali full of Amritsari staples at the iconic Kesar Da Dhaba. Her Thali at this small but landmark dhaba consisted of Naan, Sarso Da Saag, Raita and much more. But Nimrat Kaur’s binge fest did not stop right there.

She later posted a number of stories while at a farm where, dressed in blue, she indulged in homemade goodies that Punjabi homes are famous for. Her plate of food has delicious aloo paratha, tea, pickle and curd, which she referred to as the best farm to table food. The little square of white butter on her paratha proved that Nimrat Kaur, a true Punjaban, does not shy away from the goodness of ghee and butter. For those unaware, Nimrat Kaur comes from a Sikh family and was brought up in Patiala, Punjab and Pilani, Rajasthan. The actress’ “golden weekend” not only gave us a glimpse into her love for her roots, but also her love for Punjabi food.
