Cravings can attack you out of nowhere and when we need something quick and scrummy to calm down those cravings nothing beats the loaded, old-fashioned wrap. They are the most apt snack to savour whenever we want to munch on something quick and easy without spending much of our time in the kitchen. Wraps are also often referred to as rolls in India because of its look and appeal.
Their versatility has always been in rage among foodies. From modest Kathi rolls, kulcha and seekh kabab roll, shawarma rolls to sushi rolls, quesadilla wraps et al. It is for sure that we will always adore them for their ability to please us with their flavour. Keeping this in mind, we bring you the recipe of chicken satay wrap which will surely entice you with its sapid flavours. It is flavourful, edgy and just the right choice to beat those cravings. This recipe can easily become your on-the go grub.
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken thigh fillets, chopped in small cubes
- 3 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
- 2 tsp dark soy sauce
- 3 tsp fresh lime juice
- 200gm lettuce leaves
- 1 small cucumber, wedge slices
- ½ small onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup basil leaves
- 1-2 nos. red chillies, finely chopped
- 4 large soft flour tortillas
- Salt to taste
- Oil
Preparations:
1. Take a small bowl, add peanut butter, sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce, salt and lime juice. Stir these ingredients with 1 tbsp of warm water. Keep it aside.
2. In a non-stick pan heat oil over a medium flame heat for shallow frying. When the oil is hot enough, add the chicken fillets in batches and fry them thoroughly from both sides until they are golden brown in color.
3. Meanwhile, in a bowl, add lettuce, red chillies, cucumber, onion and basil. Mix them well.
4. Now take the chicken fillets and marinate it with the prepared sauce evenly from all sides.
5. To assemble the wrap, take the tortilla and add a couple of chicken pieces topping it with veggies. If you like you can also garnish it with a squeeze of lime and chopped coriander leaves before wrapping the roll.
Eat them quickly to enjoy the creamy and succulent taste of the chicken.
