One of the fondest memories that a child can carry in their hearts forever, is the memory of the pleasant surprises that they have received from their parent’s. Often when someone is asked what their favourite food memory is, they recall one from their childhood in which they picture their family happily celebrating. Food is the language of love for children, who are often found hoping that their parents grant them permission to indulge in cake, pizza and all such treats. Parents, however, are mostly watchful and strict when it comes to their children’s diet. Nevertheless, in some light hearted moments, parents let their kids have fun and surprise them with candies, cakes and whatever it is that their little one desire. This was also the case recently with celebrity parents Mira Rajput and Shahid Kapoor.
Mira is a doting mother to two kids and has an active social media feed, on which she keeps sharing informative and candid posts and snippets from her life with her husband. A while back, Mira shared photos of vanilla cake to her Instagram story and captioned it, “Let them eat cake. #Justbecause.” The cake and the caption was related to her kids. The vanilla cake in the photo had a beautiful floral icing, colourful sprinkles and a message for Mira and Shahid’s kids. For the uninitiated, Shahid and Mira who tied the knot in July 2015, have a daughter named Misha and a son called Zain. The message atop the cake that was addressed to both of them read, “We Love You Misha And Zain, Love Mama and Papa.”
Another photo describing the content of the cake featured the cake with a slice cut out. From the layers, one could deduce that there’s chocolate in between the cake. Confirming this, in the caption, Mira wrote, “Old school cake. Vanilla sponge, Choco ganache, Buttercream, Sprinkles.” The cake looked creamy and delicious.
Mira is a talented cook and one gets to see that side to her pretty frequently on her social media. From comfort food and salads to delicacies like khao suey, Mira can whip up a culinary delights in her kitchen.
