It is not just the food that you can spice up but also your drinks. This sounds too bizarre. Well, let’s get you familiar with a cocktail we have recently come across that is strangely spicy but also quite addictive. A michelada is a Mexican drink infused with sweet and spicy flavours that include adding a fantastic splash of beer and lime juice, hot sauces, tomato juice, peppers, and more. This is indeed a superior yet Mexican version of bloody mary, in case you’re wondering, but it has its twist and variations. While making this Mexican beer- cocktail, one always plays with the ingredients of their own choice. When you hear of hot sauces, what comes to your mind? Some of the best spices used in the making include Maggi sauce, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. We are not quite sure about the time of origin of this classic Mexican beer cocktail, but we can promise that you’re going to love this drink.
So would you like to make it at home? Here is the recipe we have put down.
Ingredients-
- 30ml beer
- 10ml lime juice
- 2 tablespoon hot sauce
- 10ml fresh tomato juice
- 2-3 chilli peppers
- Half tablespoon celery salt
- Lemon wedge ( for garnishing)
Steps in the making-
- First, you need to rim your cocktail glass with salt by placing your glass upside down on a round dish or plate filled with salt.
- Once you have achieved a salt-rimmed glass, start making the cocktail by adding ingredients one after another.
- Pour all the ingredients in a chilled glass filled with ice cubes. Start with lime juice and add a dash of beer at the end. Use either a pint glass or mason jar glass.
- Michelada is ready to reish! Finally, garnish your drink with a lemon wedge.
