It would be a perfect accompaniment for freshly grilled meat too and make it all the more delicious. And mayonnaise doesn’t just come as is, it has so many different flavours that can suit your taste buds, as well as your diet plan. Besides regular mayonnaise, you have tofu mayonnaise, eggless mayonnaise, dairy-free mayonnaise, or simply the ones which are flavoured with fresh herbs, spices and garlic.

The history of mayonnaise has several stories behind it. Some would say it originated in France while others say that it has its root in Spain. While one story suggests that 'the first batch of egg yolks, oil and seasoning was whipped up in 1756 to celebrate the French capture of Mahon, a city on the Spanish Isle of Minorca, many food experts have, however, contested theory. There are theories that suggest that it was already an intrinsic part of French cuisine and made its way to America in 1838 when French chefs migrated there.
