In fact, my first attempt at cooking something over the flame comprised a rather distorted omelette. While I did do good until the egg mix spread over the pan, but failed miserably the moment I flipped it. In my defense, isn’t egg bhurji better than omelette? My family didn’t think so though.

Masala Omelette is one such desi egg treat that’s going to be a delight for anyone who love eggs and spices. While the protein-rich egg is the prime ingredient in an omelette, a combination of onions, tomatoes and flavorful spices make it a whole lot better! And that is exactly this recipe of masala omelette is all about. Serve it with a slice of butter on top and you have a yummy morning meal to relish. The best part is, that even though this recipe has tomato, onions, coriander leaves and green chillies, you can add as many spices and veggies as you want of your choice. Serve it with bread slices or sandwiched between buttered burger buns, you are free to experiment.
How To Make Masala Omelette
Ingredients
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 green chilies, chopped
1 tbsp oil
2 Eggs
Salt and pepper (to taste)
1 tbsp butter
Handful of fresh coriander leaves
2 cheese cubes, grated
Method
1. Heat oil in a pan and add onion, tomato and green chilies to it. Saute lightly and let them cook on low flame.
2. Now break the eggs in it and whisk well together.
3. Add salt and pepper to it. Mix well.
4. Now heat another pan with butter and pour the mixture in the pan.
5. Add fresh coriander leaves and grated cheese on the mixture and let it fry.
6. Make two folds of the omelette, flip and cook from both sides.
7. Turn off the heat and add butter under the omelette if you wish to make it buttery.
8. Serve hot with toasted bread or burger buns.
