Madhuri Dixit's Son Take Cooking Lesson From His Dad

Madhuri Dixit is the queen of Bollywood, and no one can deny this. After taking a long break from films, Madhuri is once again spreading her charm in movies, reality shows as well as OTT platforms. The actress is also quite active on social media and so her husband Dr Sriram Nene. Dr Nene runs a YouTube channel where he keeps sharing health and lifestyle related videos. Recently, Dr Nene dropped a new video in which he teaches his son Arin Nene yet another tasty recipe.  

Arin Nene is currently studying at the University of Southern California in the US. Dr Sriram taught Arin such a recipe that would be suitable for college-going youngsters like him. According to Sriram, this recipe is high in protein and has a spicy flavor and will surely make Arin popular among his roommates. Dr Nene shared the video on Instagram and captioned it as "Teaching your child to cook - quick, easy, tasty, healthy Besan ka Chilla”.

In the description of his YouTube video, Dr Nene wrote ‘Besan ka Chilla has ruled the hearts of Maharashtrians for a long time, and why wouldn’t it? It’s quick and easy, very tasty and healthy too! This protein-rich and fiber-rich delicacy is great for losing weight and has healthy unsaturated fats that can help lower cholesterol levels. The minimal ingredients, convenience, and nutritional value make it ideal for college-going youngsters – so I taught Arin how to whip it up, quick!’. In the video, Arin is seen helping his father and enjoying the company! 

We all know what ‘Besan ka chilla’ is. This Indian savoury pancake is commonly made in almost every India household, mostly for breakfast. It is an easy and quick vegetarian recipe which could be made in just 15 to 20 minutes. Dr Nene also shared the recipe of this quick and easy savoury vegetarian snack on his YouTube channel, and it is totally fair to share the recipe with you! Here you go! 

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup of Gram Flour 
  • 2 tsp chopped Coriander Leaves 
  • ¼ tsp Ajwain 
  • Salt as per taste 
  • ¼ tsp Haldi  
  • ¼ tsp Cumin seeds 
  • 1 tsp Oil 
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida(Hing)  
  • Half an Onion  
  • Half a Carrot 
  •  Half a Tomato Chilles (optional) 

Method

  • Roughly chop the vegetables.  
  • Add them into a chutney mixer and grind it till you get a paste-like consistency.  
  • Add 1 cup of gram flour (chickpea flour) to a regular bowl. 
  • Add the vegetable paste to the bowl.  
  • Add ¼ tsp hing, ¼ tsp cumin seeds, ¼ tsp haldi, ¼ tsp ajwain, 2tsp chopped coriander, and salt as per taste.  
  • Add water and stir the batter with a whisk till you get a liquid consistency. 
  • Preheat the pan with 1 tsp of oil. 
  • Once the pan is hot enough, spread the batter around the pan and pack it with a lid. 
  • Flip the chilla after a minute and let it cook for another 60 seconds.
