As the winning duos of preliminary contests made a beeline to compete against one another in the semi-final and final rounds for the Lupin Aptivate Achchi Bhook Quiz in Mumbai on Sunday, December 15, the parent-child teams were tested on their depth of knowledge about nutrition and healthy eating, among other trivia about history, pop culture and fashion. Facing off in pan-Indian cities of Delhi, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Meerut, Kanpur and Dehradun – celebrity host Amrita Raichand played anchor to a total of six teams in the finale.
Parents and children tackled questions that tied food histories with politics, fun trivia that led to popular dishes deriving their names and more – all to land some exciting prizes which included high-end electronic gadgets and more. “Children must develop an early understanding of dishes, ingredients and their history, so that they can connect with the idea of mindful eating. This is such an interesting and engaging way to do that,” Raichand added. Emerging as winner in the overall contest was Dr Pillai Global Academy’s Milan Bijoy, a grade 4 student – who participated alongside his father, Bijoy Rajendrababu.
