A delicious treat that people love to make in Bihar and Jharkhand, the crunchy laddoos are basically a mixture of lightly sautéed puffed rice in jaggery powder or melted jaggery. Then the mixture is rolled into balls. This snack only required three to four ingredients, and the laddoos can be made very quickly so it is ideal to have in homes while working or even at your desk at work. Carry something healthy to work so you don’t have to binge on junk food like chips and chocolates. Ghee, a staple in many Indian homes, imparts a unique aroma to the laddoos, and of course, we all know that ghee is a rich source of vitamins, antioxidants and healthy fats. This is the perfect snack for kids and adults. If you want to know how to make lai ke laddoo, follow these steps below -
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cup puffed rice
- 1 1/2 tablespoon jaggery powder
- 2 tablespoons ghee
METHOD
- In a skillet, dry roast the puffed rice for 2-4 minutes on medium flame.
- Turn off the heat.
- Transfer the puffed rice into a bowl.
- In the same skillet, heat ghee on medium flame.
- Add jaggery powder and puffed rice.
- Stir occasionally, so the puffed rice is coated properly in jaggery powder.
- Switch off the flame.
- Once the mixture has cooled down, scoop it little by little and make puffed rice balls with it.
- Store the puffed rice balls in an airtight container.
