After consuming coconut water, who doesn't like a delicious fresh Coconut Malai? Young coconuts contain Coconut Malai, a soft jelly-like substance that is also referred to as Coconut Flesh. It is simple to remove from the coconut and consume it whole. Coconut malai has a lot of health advantages, including being high in fibre, which improves digestion, lauric acid, which boosts immunity, a high concentration of antioxidants, which gives the skin an inner glow, and low in fat and cholesterol, which makes it heart healthy.
Here are some ways to use tender coconut malai-
Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut malai
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1 tbsp honey and a few drops of vanilla extract
Method
- Scoop out the soft coconut malai, then put it in the blender.
- Blender with coconut water, honey, and vanilla extract.
- A smoothie will form after thorough blending.
- Serve the smoothie in a glass after taking it out.
- For a richer smoothie, you can add chopped nuts.
Ice cream
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut malai
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
- Scoop out the coconut flesh, then combine it with the coconut water in a blender. Provide a mixture.
- Now incorporate sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream. Create a smooth mixture by blending.
- Use a stick blender to pour the mixture into a pot and thicken and smooth it up.
- Place the mixture in a tin before freezing it.
- Frozen for 4-5 hours is fine.
- Scoop the ice cream into a bowl once it has hardened, then top with fruit and nuts.
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut malai
- 1 litre milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- 10 almonds
- 10 cashews
- 10 raisins
- A pinch of saffron
Method
- Add milk to a pan and bring it to a boil.
- Turn the heat down now, and let it simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
- To keep the milk from adhering to the bottom, stir after every two minutes.
- Grate the coconut malai and add it to a nonstick pan in the meantime. Cook until it starts to get a little dry. Add this to the milk that is boiling.
- To the milk, add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron.
- Cook for another 10 minutes after mixing. This will give the Kheer the ideal consistency.
- Add the almonds and cashews that have been finely chopped last. Use soaked raisins in the Kheer as well.
- Turn off the flame and let it cool.
Laddoo
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut malai
- 1 cup milk powder
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¼ cup ghee
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp chopped cashews
Method
- Ghee should be added to a pan that is heated to medium. As it starts to get a little dry, add coconut malai that has been finely chopped or shredded.
- Add the cardamom powder and milk powder now.
- Add sugar and 1/2 cup of water to another pan. Cook and stir the mixture until it has the consistency of one string.
- To the pan containing the coconut and milk powder mixture, add this sugar syrup.
- Continuously stir while cooking on low heat until the mixture starts to pull away from the pan's sides.
- Turn off the heat, then stir in the cashews that have been coarsely chopped. Let it to cool now.
- Prune out tiny bits of the mixture with your greased hands.
- To make laddoos, roll between your hands. Then, serve.
