Television star Karan Kundrra who is currently hosting the first season of show Lock Upp, a reality show is known for his love for food. Recently he was seen talking about his love for chaat. The Punjabi munda loves his chaat from a particular shop in Jalandar. The Sardarji shop in central Model town in Jalandar is his favourite chaat hotspt. And it’s not chaat that he loves from Jalandar but also also loves his Butter Chicken. He confesses that place can make it like his hometown.  Being a proper Punjabi, he says the he loves his food a and also was heard saying that he wants a superpower so that he could eat everything.  

Karan confessed that his favourite cuisine is Chinese and loves to pair it with a glass of Red wine. But his all-time favourite is “ghar ka Khana”. He had also confessed that he is a big-time foodie and is a strictly non-vegetarian. This fitness freak loves his time at the gym and he also adds that while he is travelling, he loves to indulge in all local delicacies.

As since we are talking about Chaat, do we know that chaat only came into existence during Shahjahan’s reign with the cholera outbreak. The water of Yamuna river got contaminated and hence the Hakim instructed to add spices like coriander, red chillies and tamarind for each ones daily consumption. Triveni Terrace Café

This place at Triveni Kala Sangam, Mandi House, is an absolutely adda joint when you catching up with your friends. This place just doesn’t have good chai padkoda but also some great chaats. Their palak patta chaat tops the list that sees crispy papdi coated with a crunchy layer of spinach leaves add a touch of nutrition. 

Natraj Dahi Bhalle Wala

This iconic shop has been a saviour for dilliwala for ages. Located at chandni chowk, he is known for his tikki’s that  is served with a mix of chutneys along with some rich thick sweetened curd, a soft bhalla that is dipped in assorted chutneys and masalas. Doesn’t is already sound delectable. 

Shree Balaji Chaat Bhandar

Another one treasure from Old dilli, Shree Balaji Chaat Bhandar is located near Sis Ganj Gurudwara, Chandni Chowk. The Bhalla papdi that is served at this 150 year old shop has not changed a bit since it’s inception. The soft bhallas are soaked in water and is then mashed and slathered with curd and lots of spices. 

UPSC Chaat Wala

Located Khan market, the UPSC Chaat Wala is a landmark in itself. This 80+ year old shop that’s actually named Prabhu Chaat Bhandaar is today fondly called the UPSC chaat wala. Known for it’s dahi bhalle and Papdi Chaat, Tikki, Aaloo Chaat this place is quiet a crowd puller. Visiting here is worth all your penny.
