Japanese YouTuber Mayo Expresses Wish To Visit Ayodhya

As one of the most popular digital content creators in India, Mayo – a YouTuber from Japan is widely known for her fluent Hindi speaking skills. Following a video that she shot with the Japanese Ambassador, Hiroshi Suzuki – where they shook a leg to a Rajnikanth song, the viral internet personality who was in Mumbai recently expressed her desire to pay a visit to Ayodhya, in lieu of the upcoming temple consecration ceremony on January 22.

Gushing about her love for India as a result of her education in Osaka University where she studied a Hindi course, Mayo also spent some time in Delhi before she shot to fame. From drawing similarities of family values and gushing about her love for the iconic street food – pani puri – she is known for her documentation of culture, travel and food in Indian and Japan. While she was candid enough to share that although she wasn’t too familiar with the Ram Mandir event, she was keen to learn more about it on her visit.

With 3 million subscribers to her credit, Mayo has also created videos where she was seen enjoying dishes like dosas, pav bhaji, uttapam, mithai and chhole-bhature. Being familiarised with India and its culture from an early age her curiosity about the place grew with time, following which she pursued a major in Hindi to fulfil her father’s dying wish. Some of her highlights from her time in India also include meeting and interviewing Jr NTR and the cast of RRR in Japan, a couple of years ago.
