Method
- Clean the methi leaves and remove the thick stems.
- Wash the leaves thoroughly and make sure to remove dirt or impurities.
- You can use a colander to drain the leaves. After draining, chop them finely.
- Spread a clean cotton cloth on a tray and spread the chopped leaves on the cloth.
- Cover the leaves with another thin cloth.
- Keep the tray in the sun and allow the leaves to dry well.
- It will take 2-3 days of strong sunlight to form a crispy texture of the leaves.
- Rub the leaves between your palms to get a thick powder.
Apart from sun drying, you can also try a quick microwave option. All you have to do is, place the fenugreek leaves in the microwave and roast at high temperature for 8-10 minutes. Take out the tray and let it cool down completely. Then crush the dried fenugreek leaves with your fingers.
Where to store?
Always keep the dried methi leaves away from moist places. The best way is to store it in a jar and keep it in the refrigerator. You can use it for about 5 to 6 months.
