Personally speaking, ice creams are my all-time go-to refuge. From a bad day to a weekend evening, I can go for a scoop of ice cream any time of the day. however, when I decided to change my lifestyle, I realized I have to go give up on ice cream too. Although the market is full of healthy ice creams, they are still processed. So, I started making ice cream at home. If you are up for the same, here are four easy steps you can follow.
1. Add sugar, milk and cream to a pan and heat on a low flame. Stir this mixture until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture is just hot.
2. Transfer this mixture to a big measuring cup. Add vanilla essence, stir to mix and chill the mixture completely. You can also leave it to chill overnight.
3. Pour this cold ice cream mixture into an ice cream churner and churn for 20-25 minutes- until you get the desired consistency.
4. If you don’t have an ice cream churner, add the mixture to a ziptop bag, freeze until the mixture is solid. Break the solid mixture into chunks and add to a food processor and pulse till you get a smooth texture. Store this mixture in an air-tight container and freeze until it’s ready to serve.
5. You can add any flavouring agents according to your preference and experiment with the toppings to make your ice cream more tempting.
