Banana Wine

Banana wine is a health tonic that helps control blood pressure and aid digestion. This fruit wine is loaded with potassium, manganese, and vitamins. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 dozen bananas 
  • 500 grams sugar 
  • 2+ litres water 
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast 
  • 40 grams raisins (washed and drained)
  • 4-5 cloves 
  • 1- inch cinnamon stick 
  • 2 red dried chillies 

How To Make Banana Wine?

  1. Boil 2 litres of water with sugar and let it cool. 
  2. Take a sterile ceramic jar, transfer the boiled sugar syrup into it and add yeast. Mix well and cover the pot until the yeast has been wholly proofed. 
  3. Now chopped bananas with skin intact, raisins and stir gently with a long wooden spoon. 
  4. After some hours, add crushed cloves, cinnamon, and chillies. Stir gently. 
  5. Cover the jar and set it in a warm palace for 10-15 days. At days of interval, use a clean and dry paddle to give the mixture a quick stir. 
  6. After 10-15 days, strain it into dry bottles and close the lid, keep them in the dark and cool place for more than 15-20 days. 
  7. Don’t touch the wine during this period. 

Your homemade banana wine is ready to be enjoyed at special events.

Jaggary Mulled Wine

Jaggary mulled wine is full of spicy and fruity flavours. This light, tasty and appetizing drink not just satisfies your taste buds but is also good for your health.

Ingredients: 

  • 750 ml port wine; if not, use red wine
  • 1 cup gin 
  • 5-6 cloves 
  • 2 pieces cinnamon stick 
  • 2 bay leaf 
  • ½ piece orange slice
  • ½ piece vanilla pod 
  • 2 tbsp jaggery powder
  • 2-star anise 

How To Make Jaggery Mulled Wine?

  1. Melt the jaggery powder, add the spices to the wine, cook it on a low flame for 10-15 minutes, and add sliced oranges. 
  2. After 2-5 minutes, take it off from the gas and put off the flame. You can directly add the gin if you do not choose to flambe it. 
  3. Pour the rest of the wine into spiced wine and let it cook on a low flame for 20-25 minutes. 
  4. Now keep this wine-soaked overnight with spices and serve hot to the next day. 

Your jaggery mulled wine is ready to be served immediately in the wine glasses.
