You can either pan fry or deep fry these pancakes, whichever method you prefer. To make these exquisite and tasty pancakes, follow the below recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups wheat flour
  • ½ cup rice flour
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter ( melted )
  • 4 tablespoon oil
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons walnuts ( chopped )

Method

  • In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Add the warm milk and butter. Mix until a batter is formed.
  • Knead the dough into a ball and cover and leave to rise for 1 or 2 hours.
  • When the dough has risen, press it and divide it into 8 parts.
  • Roll each piece into a ball and level it about 4 inches wide.
  • Place 1 tablespoon of filling ( cinnamon, nutmeg, chopped walnuts, brown sugar ) in the center of each dough ball.
  • Form a ball from the dough on top of and around the filling. Make sure all the filling is around the dough.
  • Flatten the balls into 3 pancakes.
  • Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a small non-stick pan over medium heat.
  • Add pancakes and cook until golden brown for about 1 minute on both sides.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of water and cover the pan. Cook for 30 seconds so that the filling melts. Serve it warm.

Tips:

  • When filling the dough, rub your hands a little; this prevents the pancakes from sticking.
  • Before frying, make sure all edges are completely sealed. Otherwise, the filling will come out inside the oil.
  • You can use instant yeast to set the dough rapidly.
